Cecilia Rubiera, LCPC

Cecilia joined the Cedar Ridge Counseling Center in 2017 and is bilingual in Spanish and English. She completed her Master’s Degree in Clinical Community Counseling in 2012, graduating from Johns Hopkins University School of Education. She went on to study trauma further, earning her post master’s certificate in Violence, Trauma, and Torture from the University of Maryland, College Park.


Cecilia began her career working as an evening mental health counselor for children in grades 6th through 12th, in a boarding school setting. Although she has spent most of her career working with at risk adolescents, she has experience with all populations including families, couples, and adults. She has worked in different therapeutic settings including psychiatric rehabilitation facilities, substance abuse centers, the public school system and outpatient mental health clinics.


Cecilia has experience working with clients struggling with Substance Abuse, ADHD, Anxiety Disorders, Post-traumatic Stress Disorders, Depression, Mood Disorders, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Anger Management, Adjustment Disorders, Relationship Issues, Couple/Family Therapy, Parenting Issues, Behavior Management, and Emotional and Behavioral Disturbances.
