Christina Degenhardt, LCPC

 


Christina Degenhardt earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from University of South Florida in 2003 and her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the Argosy University in 2006. She is licensed as a Certified Professional Counselor in the State of Maryland and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. Christina also holds a Post Graduate Certification in Sex Therapy and is a Certified Sex Therapist.  Additionally, she has taught a variety of Psychology related classes at the college level and has served as the Dean of Academics for a small university.


Christina has spent many years counseling Children, Adolescents, Adults and Families in Individual and Group Therapy working with both men and women. She has extensive training in working with Sexually based issues including Assault, Trauma and Abuse, Intimacy/Sexual Issues, Sexual Dysfunctions & Disorders, Sexual Addictions, Paraphilias, Sexual Orientation, Transgendered, and LGBT. In addition, she has years of experience working with Communication skills, Traumatic loss, Grief, Post Traumatic Stress, Adjustment and Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive and/or Compulsive Behaviors, Coping Skills, Stress Management, Parent- Child Relationship, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Dissociative Disorders, Parenting issues, Self Harm, Couples and Family Therapy.

Christina’s style of therapy employs a comprehensive approach using Cognitive Behavioral, Solution Focused, and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapies, and Emotional Regulation Techniques.


Christina’s strengths are in the belief that for most of us, there is nothing more important in our lives than our relationships, even with ourselves. As a daughter, wife, and parent, she understands one of the fundamental foundations of any relationship is communication. Without effective and productive communication, our relationships suffer. Christina enjoys working with effective communication skills so that they may be developed to enhance and support healthy relationships.
