Jen Strine, MSW, LCSW-C

Jen Strine earned her BA in Sociology and BSW in Social Work from Western Maryland College (now known as McDaniel College) in 2000. Following graduation she attended the University of Maryland School of Social Work where she obtained her Masters of Social Work degree in 2001. She worked with Substance abuse, DOT compliance, and various other mental health issues.

Jen realized her real passion for therapy was working with children and adolescents. Jen worked in a 60 day shelter program for children ranging in age from 7 to 18. Most children admitted into the program were removed from their home due to a variety of issues including sexual and/or physical abuse, neglect, behavioral issues, or as a step down from a Residential Treatment facility. Most children entering her care were in a state of crisis and resistant to the treatment process. She utilized empathy and active listening to build quick rapport and earn their trust.

Jen has experience working with clients struggling with ADHD, Adjustment Disorders, Anger Management, Anxiety Disorders, Conduct Disorders, Depression, Eating Disorders, Mood Disorders, Oppositional Defiant Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Panic Disorders, Parenting issues, Physical abuse/trauma, Post traumatic Stress, and Sexual abuse/trauma.

She believes the best way to evoke change is to actively engage the client in the therapeutic process. Jen uses a strengths based perspective and cognitive behavioral approach to engage her clients and work towards change.
