Jill Sergott-Pearce, LCSW-C

Jill is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in the treatment of individuals and families.  Jill earned a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland and a Masters degree in Special Education from Goucher College.  As a former special education teacher, Jill has a great deal of experience with working with children and adolescents with challenging behaviors, including those on the Autism Spectrum.  Jill worked as a therapist in the non-public school setting and is currently working as the primary mental health provider for Carroll County’s Regional BEST Program at WHS, which is a specialized program for students identified with emotional disabilities.

Jill is also a consultant for SAMSHA’s Trauma Informed Care team; she has traveled around the country educating school systems, hospitals, and government agencies how to teach self-regulation strategies to trauma survivors.  Jill is also a trained Mediator.

Jill does not operate from a particular theory of counseling; she will address the whole persona and utilize treatment modalities that fit the individual needs of the clients, always using a strengths-based perspective.  There is not an area of personal struggle that she is unwilling to work with.  These areas include, but are not limited to:

• Anxiety and Panic Disorders
• Depression
• Mood Disorders
• Relationship Issues (Marriage and Family)
• Trauma and PTSD
• Personality Disorders
• School Refusals
• School Behavior/Learning Problems • ADHD
