Kara Silber (Lammes), LCSW-C

While new to the Cedar Ridge Counseling Centers group, Kara joins the practice after years of experience working with children and adolescents living with ADHD, Anxiety and/or Mood Disorders, School and/or Social Phobias, Adjustment Disorders, trauma and PTSD, as well as other behavioral or emotional difficulties. Focusing on strengths as compared to deficits, Kara incorporates mindfulness into her work with children to assist them with building self-esteem, managing emotions, improving social interaction skills and increasing self-control.

Kara obtained her Masters Degree in Social Work in 1999 from the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work. She has been licensed at the highest clinical level in the state (LCSW-C) since 2005.

Before joining Cedar Ridge, Kara worked for the Department of Social Services as an investigative social worker with children and for a community-based domestic violence program working with women and children. For the last 12 years and continuing, she works as a school social worker for the Baltimore City School System, servicing children and families ranging in grades from pre-Kindergarten to 12.

Kara is currently going through the credentialing process and will soon be accepting new patients in our Owings Mills location.
