Matthew D. E. Schneider, MSW, LCSW-C




Matt holds a Masters degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and is fully licensed in Maryland and Pennsylvania as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  While in graduate school, he completed internships with the Department of Psychiatry at Abington Memorial Hospital in suburban Philadelphia, a brief research internship with Harvard Medical School at McLean Hospital, and worked with veterans at the Philadelphia VA Hospital with Penn School of Medicine.  He completed post-graduate supervision requirements while employed at Eastern Shore Psychological Services, and has been with Cedar Ridge since December 2009.


Experience and Populations Served:


Primarily serving adults and adolescents, though Matt has some experience with children as well.  He has experience in assisting with many types of Anxiety, Depression, Obsessive-Compulsive Concerns, Adjustment Disorders, Bipolar Depression, Schizophrenia, Elder Adult Psychotherapy, Men’s Issues, Post-traumatic Stress Syndrome, Acute Trauma, Military Post-deployment/Discharge Adjustment Concerns, Parent-Teen Relationship difficulties, and Self-Esteem Concerns


More Specific Areas of Interest:


Having worked with Veterans in Philadelphia, Matt finds much interest in helping recently returned or previous combat veterans with Post-traumatic Stress Syndrome and other service-specific concerns.  He also has training and considerable interest in assisting older adults with life transition issues and difficulties that arise post-retirement
