Sean Cavanaugh, LCSW-C

Sean has over 10 years of experience in the helping profession. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) Sean has worked with adults, adolescents, children, and families across a variety of treatment settings including outpatient clinics, psychiatric hospitals, and individual’s homes. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Psychology in 2006 from University of Maryland, College Park and later earned his Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2012. Sean has extensive experience conducting individual therapies, couples, family, and group therapy.

Sean’s treatment philosophy is that the partnership between the therapist and the client is the most important predictor of successful treatment. From the first interaction the emphasis is on creating a safe, non-judgmental, and positive space. He employs a person-centered approach to help people achieve their treatment goals. He creatively tailors his interventions to meet the individual’s specific needs.
